Honk if you see the fortieth mural in the UT System’s “Everywhere You Look, UT” campaign! It’s on the side of a grain trailer owned by Maury County fourth-generation farmer and UT Extension employee James Harlan. The mural is a celebration of his family’s deep roots in agriculture and UT, which includes his own history with UT Extension. Harlan (BS natural resource management ’06, Martin; MS agricultural leadership, education and communications ’19) has previously served as an Extension agent in Wayne and Hickman Counties. Today, you’ll find him at the Center for Profitable Agriculture where, as an Extension assistant in value-added agriculture, he helps farmers across the state develop opportunities to add new income streams to their operation. Harlan hopes the mobile mural inspires others to look to UT for resources, an education, or career path. Learn more about the “Everywhere You Look, UT” campaign at everywhere.tennessee.edu.
